About the experience:

You will start your horse and carriage experience day by meeting the horses and watching them being “put to” the carriage. You will then climb aboard a 100 year old vintage Barouche carriage, sit back and relax for your 45 minute carriage drive through beautiful English countryside.  Our drives take us across a private estate along quiet country lanes with spectacular scenery.  A chilled bottle of Champagne and glasses will be provided for you to enjoy during your drive.

Afterwards you will be dropped off at the start of a footpath to follow the signs to your own private picnic spot. Here you will find a luxury hamper packed full of local tasty produce.  The picnic area includes table & chairs, a relaxing day bed, blankets and sumptuous cushions to sun bathe on and while away the afternoon. The area is covered to provide shelter / shade and overlooks rolling green fields.  After your picnic you can explore the numerous footpaths and even walk as far as the Ashdown Forest, or you can choose to just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Horse and carriage experience day

“Through life, if you are lucky, you may have some wonderful and memorable experiences. We had one of those today. From being collected from E Grinstead Station, then meeting the two gorgeous horses. After the first glass of champagne (the rest of the bottle followed with lunch) we enjoyed a good 45min ride in a 150 year old barouche. We were then pointed in the direction of our picnic area – via the goats (for which we were given a basket of ‘goat’ goodies for Norah Batty and her two friends). After following a rough track, we came upon a ‘paradise in the wood’. Tables, chairs, gourmet picnic, a bottle of wine, lovely cushions, a covered spacious relaxation area with what can only be described as an enormous sofa area.. Oh, we could go on and on, but it was perfect. So much thought and preparation had gone into the picnic area. Magazines, games, maps and – a wonderful, quality and filling picnic, plus chilled wine. We will certainly return – perhaps for the next visit – a winter fire pit experience. We have recommended many places and experiences throughout the world but, if you want a personal, relaxing day with a unique experience of a horse-drawn carriage ride, then we cannot recommend anything more highly. Just go!!”
